• Justice and Equality Movement: the movement's executive office in Blue Nile State announced an emergency meeting chaired by engineer Moaz Adam Hassab to discuss the rapidly unfolding security developments in the state, amid what it described as mounting victories for the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Joint Forces on the battlefronts, particularly Kordofan. The meeting condemned the Rapid Support Forces' suicide-drone attacks on Damazin city and the targeting of civilian sites, along with attacks on areas in Wad Al-Mahi locality and the displacement of residents just before the harvest season, and movement leader Abu Shotal called for heeding reason and returning to "the nation's embrace". • The African Union Commission clarifies its statement on tensions with Ethiopia: the Commission issued a new statement yesterday, Sunday, in response to Egyptian criticism of its October 1 statement, saying it was in no way intended to assign responsibility for what is happening to any of the neighbouring countries, but was "merely a call to de-escalate" following the expulsion of diplomats from the three capitals, stressing that it attaches "special importance" to its close relationship with Egypt as a founding member of the Union. This came after Egyptian sources described the first statement as "an incomprehensible attempt to drag Egypt into an internal Ethiopian matter", amid Ethiopian accusations against Egypt, Eritrea and Sudan of backing armed factions — accusations the three countries denied.
